    PHOBIA:

A phobia is a feeling of fear that an individual has without any reason. It is a Greek word meaning ‘fear’. It is a type of anxiety disorder when a person develops a sense of horror from certain objects, places, or situations.

Dr. Kailash Mantry has been treating mental illness for so many years without medications. He genuinely believes that ever mental order is treatable with the correct procedures and treatment avoiding medicines.

The presence of phobia can interfere with an individual’s normal life and can disturb it. The impact of phobia can be just little or very intense to control.

    Symptoms:

A person can have a phobia of anything and can experience extreme stress and physical symptoms. The symptoms include increased heart rate with shortness of breath or shaking and dizziness. It may also include nausea for some people. The symptoms are quite similar to anxiety disorders as it is itself a type of anxiety disorder.

In 2020, more than 35% of adults in the US reported symptoms of anxiety.

The causes of phobia are usually environmental factors and not genetics. Where in rare cases genetics may play an important role, a phobia may develop due to some past incidents as well. Fear from utmost heights or insect biting in the past can leave a strong impact on the brain, developing phobia or fear for the rest of the life.

Dr. Kailash feels that phobia is already diagnosed in many cases. An individual already knows the phobia he/she has with a certain situation or object and what happens is, they try avoiding it if they are not looking for treatments. However, phobias are treatable and should not be left untreated to improve the quality of life.

Types of Phobias according to Harvard Health Publishing:

SOCIAL PHOBIA: As the name suggests, social phobia is the fear of people. It could either be attending a phone call or talking to a group of people. It usually leads to isolation as public interaction results in panic making it very difficult for self-control. According to a report, more than 7% of adults in the US had social anxiety disorder in 2017 and this number will continue to increase.

SPECIAL PHOBIA: It is a fear of a special object. It could be any object or situation. It could be a phobia of animals such as dogs or coach roaches. It could be from a situation such as utmost heights or flying. It can also be having an injection and the list goes on. It has known to affect more than 19 million adults in the US.

AGORAPHOBIA: it is a phobia of open spaces. Fear of not getting help when things don’t work well in public areas. It could be visiting a mall or traveling alone on a train or a bus. It is a fear of being in an accident or terrorism.

However, despite so many other forms of phobias, there is always a natural treatment route to it.

Usually, women are more diagnosed with agoraphobia than men. According to a survey done by NHS UK in 2018, every 3 people out of 100 are diagnosed with this type of phobia

Seeking a doctor right away is very important. The doctor may ask for the symptoms you see whenever you are into the phobia state is very crucial to help further treatment proceed. Treating phobia gradually has proven to get people out of it very clearly.

If you have a phobia that is not severe or you can control it or avoid it in such a manner that it doesn’t interfere with your life and doesn’t provoke the symptoms, there is no treatment needed for that. For example, if you have a special phobia but it is of any rare animal like a lion, you can simply avoid lions. But if you have a special phobia of cats and dogs and you know you will have continuous interaction with them throughout the day, you must seek help from a doctor.

    Treatments for Phobia:

There are several techniques to help this anxiety disorder and treat it. Treating with therapies and without medication is gaining popularity because of the significant results patients observe without the side effects of medicines. Dr.Kailash with his 25 years research and 50 therapies is treating his clients and people are satisfied with his astonishing results

    1. Exercise and eat healthy:

The benefits of excising are never-ending. Physical exercises help in improving health conditions. Exercising helps increase your endorphin levels magnificently which assists in stabilizing your mood and make your brain and body healthy. Stress and anxiety are brain enemies.

150 minutes of exercise a week can help anxiety disorder.” Dr. William.

For a person who is a victim of any type of phobia, it’s important to maintain a healthy body by regular exercise and healthy food. Mental disorders are directly related to the brain.

Studies shows, food habits are completely responsible for your mental problems. To make things normal and make your brain fit, eating the right food (avoid junk food) and exercising would be the cherry on the top.

    2. Self-help: You are solely responsible to control your brain. Stay calm and train your brain. Stop hyperventilation when you are exposed to phobia. Hyperventilation is abnormal breathing patterns due to anxiety. Making things calm can help you overcome the phobia naturally. Relax your brain and body and learn more about the type of phobia you have. It does require a big heart to overcome phobia yourself but nothing is impossible.

Read about the type of phobia you have and treat step by step gradually. Make a list and expose yourself to your fear in a very self-controlled manner. For example, if you have social phobia and you fear public meetings, learn about public speaking. Attend seminars to boost up your self-confidence. Ask your friend for help in this matter. Ask them to be a fellow in public appearances. Take a water bottle with you to avoid hyperventilation. There is no embarrassment in treating mental disorders. If you are not able to succeed there are always therapists available.

    3. Hypnotherapy:

This therapy is also called visualization. It is the talking to the patient in the hypnotic state in which he/she is disconnected from the outer world and more united with inner emotions and thoughts. The victim of phobia is in the state of thorough relaxation and exchanges detailed conversation with his therapist regarding the phobia.

The patient will be then asked to visualize things accordingly. Because he/she is in the utmost calm stage, he is only completely focused on the phobia or fear he has, and treating it becomes easy as the patient is not at all in the anxiety state. The treatment is done accordingly by describing the root of phobia and your therapist or hypnotist will make you respond calmly and correctly to treat the condition making use of your calm stage.

The improvement and number of sessions for hypnotherapy depend on the level of phobias and how quickly the victim is improving. Usually, great improvements have been seen within 1-2 sessions.

    4. EMDR:
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy that is becoming popular due to its less equipment and less time-consuming technique. It is now being widely used throughout the world to treat traumas and past bad experiences. It helps to treat stress caused by past experiences.

It includes different phases in which the victim is treated. The first phase includes identifying the past events that are the root cause of phobia causing anxiety issues. The second session involves teaching the victim ways to handle stress in between the sessions. In the further phases, different goals are set to accomplish the tasks that are set.

EMDR is identifying the past traumas, and see how to present responses are, and then treating them for a better future response. New scenarios are made to make the victim respond free of fear in the future using a strong behavior of the brain.

    5. CBT:

Usually, phobias result in extreme fear and inabilities to perform your regular task due to the continuous flow of negative thoughts. This is where CBT comes in. Cognitively Behavior treatment helps in changing the way an individual thinks which was resulting in certain fears in the first place. CBT is a very popular and the most effective treatment when it comes to any type of anxiety disorder.

In the UK, more than 38% improvement was seen in symptoms when anxiety patients were treated with CBT for 20 weeks.

Dr.Kailash Mantry daignoses the phobia through a talking session in detail which is the most crucial step. The type of phobia with time duration and the level of phobia to make sure the treatment is up to the mark plays a very important role.

Treating and eliminating the negative thoughts gradually helping in getting more focused and then getting into a physical approach. According to a report by NHS in 2018, one simple part of this treatment involves exposing you to your fear and making you less fearful about it. For example, if you are afraid of cats and of having an extreme phobia of cats, your therapist will help you learn more about how beautiful cats are and how they can help you with a good partner if you have them as your pet animals.

Over time, when you are familiar and your fear level reduce, then your therapist will move to exposure therapy which is the most important step in CBT. They will further bring a cat to you and slowly improve your phobia about cats. Over time, they will continue exposing the patients to the fear itself to teach the brain and control the thoughts until there is no fear left. This will significantly improve the condition and help the patient get more control over your anxiety issue and make your brain calm. Phobias are just brain-controlled anxiety-causing fear for certain things or incidents. CBT involves treating those brain fear gradually step by step according to the level of phobia of the patient.

It will aid in tackling the brain that cats are cute and can make no harm to you instead they can be very good at home partners for you.

Or, if you have drowned in the past and you have a phobia of drowning, the therapist will teach you how you drowned because you didn’t know swimming. Further, they will help you with the water phobia and make you learn to swim so that you don’t avoid water and can overcome your phobia.

CBT had proven to be extremely helpful and patients recover in just a few sessions when being treated with this amazing talking therapy.

According to the National Institute For Health and Care Excellence, CBT should be held in approx. fifteen to sixteen sessions with each session more than 60 minutes and shouldn’t include computerized treatment for the victim.

Medication is usually avoided as it is known to do more harm than good. Many people have made their life-changing decisions when visited their therapist. CBT is becoming very popular in the world due to its positive results and extremely effective procedures.

    Conclusion:

Medication taken is very harmful to anxiety patients.Medicines play with the human brain and body making any mental disorder more difficult to treat is what Dr.Kailash has been saying since many years.

Dr. Kailash feels that finding the root cause and treating it naturally with different psychotherapies is what is actually required. Psychotherapies have proven to treat phobias and have been very effective recently helping victims without the fear of side effects of medicines. Dr.Kailash’s Youtube channel has reviews of all the satisfied client who never thought about treatment without medicines.

These therapies mentioned above are not only effective but they give no side effects as they don’t interfere with the brain.
